The Trondheim Symphony Orchestra’s Thursday concert is a regular highlight during the festival. Again, the festival composer is the guest of honour, this time with two fascinating works. Five Freedom Songs are Montgomery’s own versions of well-known spirituals. Records from a Vanishing City
is inspired by Montgomery’s multicultural upbringing on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
